A Provincial Perspective - News from Saskatchewan
By Amy Terrill on May 09, 2012
SaskMusic has hit the road in support of Saskatchewan artists performing in festivals across Europe this month.
Bands originating in the prairie province, some of whom are household names in Canada, are extending the Canadian brand to the UK, Scotland, Belgium and Spain with support from Saskmusic, the provincial trade association.
According to Saskmusic's
release on the tour, "introduction of the quality talent from our province to those who have the ability to expand the exposure of our artists through additional live performances, festival appearances, or music placement is one of the most efficient and effective methods of raising our artists up to compete on the world stage."
Bands involved in the tour dates are
The Sheepdogs,
Library Voices,
Jordan Cook and
Foam Lake.
A full list of dates is available on the SaskMusic website.
