Congratulations to the Metalworks Group
, who won the SME Excellence Award at last night's Ontario Business Achievement Awards
hosted by Ontario Chamber of Commerce! The award is presented annually to an Ontario-based SME that exemplifies forward thinking in all aspects of its business.
Located in Mississauga, Ontario, Metalworks began as a single studio workspace for Triumph, with founding member and Metalworks President and CEO, Gil Moore, on drums and vocals. The studio has since expanded into an award-winning six-studio complex complete with a full-scale DVD production suite and mastering suite.
Metalworks Recording Studios has garnered nearly more than 180 gold and platinum album sales awards for Canadian, American and International recording certifications of clients ranging from Drake
and Nelly Furtado to Guns N’ Roses and Bruce Springsteen.
Metalworks was the first studio in Canada to develop and register an adjunct private career college delivering education in the entertainment industry arts, leading to the creation of Metalworks Institute, who has continued to refine curricula and stay current with the ever-evolving industry.
The company's live event division, Metalworks Production Group, has quadrupled in size over the past 8 years and become one of Canada’s most respected names in live event production.
Metalworks' achievement was noted by both The Honourable Michael Chan, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, and the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Trade & Employment on Twitter:
As a forward thinking business creating both jobs and great music in Ontario, Music Canada is proud to have Metalworks Production Group as one of our strategic partners
