AJR presented with first Canadian Gold album plaque in NYC

To celebrate the release of their latest album Neotheater, American indie pop band AJR played a sold out album release show in their hometown of New York City at The Bowery Ballroom. Prior to their set, Ultra Music Canada and DMD Entertainment presented the group with their first Canadian Gold Album Award plaque for their 2017 album The Click.

The breakthrough album features the band’s Canadian Platinum-certified hits  “Weak” and “Burn The House Down,” as well as the Gold-certified “Sober Up” featuring Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo.

Multi-Platinum plaque presented to Alan Walker’s team in Amsterdam

During ADE17 (Amsterdam Dance Event) in October, Asim “Awesome” Awan (Co-President, Ultra Music Canada) and David Waxman (Senior Vice President, Ultra Music) presented electronic musician Alan Walker’s management with a custom award plaque for his Canadian Single Award certifications. The plaque commemorates Walker’s certified tracks “Faded (4x Platinum),” “Sing Me To Sleep (Gold),” and “Alone (Gold),” which were all certified in September 2017.

DVBBS receive Platinum plaques at Toronto’s Dreams Festival

Prior to hitting the main stage at Toronto’s Dreams Festival, Canadian DJ duo DVBBS were presented with Platinum award plaques for their CMC$ collaboration “Not Going Home (ft. Gia Koka).” DVBBS’ Alex Andre and Chris Chronicles are shown in the photo above holding their new plaques, alongside CMC$ (far left), Asim “Awesome” Awan (Co-President, Ultra Music Canada), and Adrian Strong (Co-President, Ultra Music Canada/President, DMD).

The group shared a recap video of the monumental homecoming on their Instagram account.

“Not Going Home” is the Orangeville, ON natives’ second Platinum track certification, with “Tsunami” reaching Platinum status in 2016. The video for “Not Going Home” can be viewed below.

Kygo presented with Platinum plaque by Ultra Music Canada at FUZEnation

Kygo, the 22-year-old Norwegian DJ, songwriter, and producer behind the hit album Cloud Nine, received a plaque commemorating the Platinum status of three of the album’s singles in Canada last week.

Ultra Music Canada presented Kygo with the award at the inaugural FUZEnation music & technology summit, which took place Sept. 27 – 30 in the Waterloo, Ontario region.

Kygo achieved Platinum status for his songs “Stay” ft. Maty Noyes, “Stole The Show” ft. Parson James, and “Firestone” ft. Conrad Sewell last month. The songs were among the initial titles to be certified under Music Canada’s new Single Award guidelines, which now includes on-demand audio streams from subscription services with digital download and CD single sales.

Kygo has made an immediate impact in the streaming world, as he became the fastest artist ever to reach 1 billion streams via Spotify.
